The time machine
The Time Machine is a science fiction novella by H. G. Wells, published in 1895. The novel is considered one of the earliest works of science fiction. The story begins with a scientist who claims to have invented a machine that allows him to travel through time. He recounts his adventures in the futurist world, which he visits in his time machine, to a group of friends. Through the book, Wells portrays a future in which the deterioration of intellect and curiosity has somehow caused humans to regress to their primitive ways. The illustrations add to the appeal of the book.
