Parrots don’t make house calls

Abby and Tess are expecting a new addition to the family, not the pet that they’ve been longing for, but a baby! Luckily, a pet-sitting opportunity comes up to help take Abby’s mind off the baby-mania at home. The girls are invited to take part in the hospital’s Animal-Assisted Activity program, a type of therapy that uses animal-human interaction as a way of restoring people to good health.

With the help of a talkative African gray parrot named Chiku, Abby and Tess must try to draw a little boy out of his dark silence. But Elliot refuses to speak and Chiku and Tess do not get along at all! Will Abby be able to keep the peace? Or will all her hard work go to the birds?
